  J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. (“Creamer”) was awarded the Princeton Meadows Wastewater Treatment Plant project. This four-year project includes all the work associated with building a new wastewater treatment plant in Plainsboro, New Jersey.

  Creamer is in the process of replacing the existing Princeton Meadows Wastewater Treatment Plant onsite. The current plant will remain operational until the new plant comes online in late 2024. Once all service is transferred to the newly constructed plant, the existing plant will be demoed, and the site will be restored.

  The construction of the new plant consists of 3 major parts:

  1) A two-story operations building

  2) 2 large diameter secondary clarifier tanks

  3) A 220’ x 80’ oxidation ditch

  Two existing tanks are being retrofitted for use in the operations of the new plant.

  The construction of these structures required Creamer to install processing equipment and piping inside the building and throughout the site, connecting all the structures together and forming the complete process for sewage treatment. 

  To date, the excavation for the new building is complete. This excavation included the installation of helical piles for underpinning and support of the existing building. These were also necessary for the tiebacks which supported the excavation. The concrete work for the new building is at the half-way point. Once the concrete structure is complete, utility work can begin. 

  Throughout the project, Creamer has been making various site improvements including the construction of retaining walls, storm drainage, fences, paving, and final landscaping.
