    J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. was awarded the Hope Creek Switching Station upgrade in Salem, NJ. The work consisted of the construction of a new 500kV switching station to upgrade the electrical supply and distribution system at the Hope Creek Nuclear Power Plant. Part of the initial scope of work included driving 10 piles, while monitored by 26 seismographs to record historical information on vibration levels. The collected data was then used to model peak particle velocity caused by the vibration to confirm that it would not damage any critical structures within the plant. To support the new station expansion, Creamer crews drove over 60 piles to depths between 80 and 120 feet. The scope of work also included the demolition of approximately 63,000 square feet of previously abandoned building foundations, including asbestos remediation. All existing utilities were also relocated after crews performed vacuum excavation. The complete construction involved approximately 700 pipe piles, 5,550 cubic yards of concrete, and 700,000 pounds of rebar.
