Lavern Dettman | General Superintendent
Lavern (Vern) is a construction general superintendent with J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc., overseeing operations in Delaware, Virginia & Maryland. Based out of the Beltsville, Maryland office, he works closely with superintendents, project managers, safety, and maintains contact with all field personnel.
Vern has been with Creamer for over 20 years. He started as a superintendent before advancing to general superintendent. He has supervised numerous projects in many areas including the installation of fiber conduit and lines, the installation, cleaning, and lining of watermains, guiderail and cable barrier installation, jack and bore, internal joint seals, and river crossing work.
Vern holds several professional certifications and trainings including, but not limited to: 10-Hour OSHA, 30-Hour OSHA, 40-Hour OSHA HazWoper, FMI Field Leader Institute, Gettysburg Leadership Certificate, Maryland Traffic Control Manager, Confined Space, and Trenching and Shoring. Vern is currently a board member of the Associated Utility Contractors of Maryland and a member of the NUCA Washington, DC Chapter.
