OUR SAFETY CULTURE

The health and safety of our people, customers and communities in which we work is our number one responsibility. Creamer fosters a culture where every team member has a voice. We all have the ability to “Stop the Job” when needed. We all take ownership for the safety of ourselves and those around us. And, most importantly, we take pride in being successful in those efforts.

Our teams start every day, and every new task, with a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), with a special emphasis on the Stuff That Can Kill You (STCKY). By identifying the most dangerous tasks of our day, and thinking about the safeguards that are required to protect everyone in the event of a failure, we attempt to eliminate the occurrence of significant, life-altering incidents. There is nothing more important that getting our people home safely each and every day.

ONBOARDING AND
TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT

Every team member goes through a comprehensive onboarding process at our Joseph T. Walsh Leadership and Training Center in Wall, New Jersey. Every Creamer leader, regardless of their job title, has the time and flexibility to pursue various technical training and career development opportunities as they emerge.

Specialized Training Sessions
Our custom-designed technical training covers many of the common tasks and operations we perform daily. Team members work through mock stations outside the classroom in the streetscape portion of our training facility. We update our training modules annually, allowing our team to prioritize the latest in safety, efficiency, and innovation. Additionally, we conduct specific training required by our clients as needed.

Some of the mock stations we create include:

  • 11′ x 7′ x 7′ underground vault used for confined space entry and rescue training
  • Handholes and underground conduit runs for “proofing” lines
  • Telephone poles with de-energized cable, which simulates an overhead utility for the purpose of equipment operator competency
  • Excavation operations
  • Shoring and other protective systems

We are always learning, innovating, and expanding our skills to better serve our clients, our company, our team, and ourselves.

We operate as a team at every level of our organization. The mentor/mentee relationship is invaluable in the infrastructure construction industry.

Infrastructure Services Innovation
While there is value in traditional methods, new technologies, strategies, and innovations are driving us toward a future of a more connected world, cleaner water and air, and resilient infrastructure that withstands the test of time.
