Safety
J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. is committed to safety in all areas of its operations, from our project job sites and mechanics shops to our offices and yards. Safety is the first and foremost of our five core values that are ingrained into our company culture.

Our safety program extends far beyond safety posters and safety clinics and it is very proactive and interactive in its approach. Safety starts with the commitment of upper management. Nothing illustrates management commitment more than their willingness to repetitively communicate and reinforce safety policies as well as to spend extensive money on our safety program. At J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc the upper management does just that.

J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. employs numerous full time Safety Supervisors throughout the company. Our Safety Supervisors are tasked with constant and repetitive work place inspection to ensure safety compliance by all of our employees.

Each year, we sponsor a company wide Annual Safety Training day in which all the field management teams, foremen, and lead men from the crews attend a day long series of safety training courses both in the class room and during live outdoor hands-on scenarios. This event has proven to be so successful that we invite OSHA to participate and observe.

Safety training on a smaller scale is conducted continuously by our in-house Safety Supervisors and/or by Safety Consultants hired by the company and includes: OSHA 40 hour course, OSHA 8 hour refresher course, confined space, ergonomics, defensive driving, first aid, CPR, trenching and shoring, small tools and equipment, personal protective gear, fall protection, etc.

Our crews start off every day with a safety “tool box” talk or "Job Hazard Awareness" talk in order to reinforce the potential hazards of the day in order to strive to prevent incidents from occurring. At the conclusion of each workday, our foremen are tasked with verifying and documenting whether any crew member was injured in any way during the day and to make sure they obtain the appropriate treatment if necessary.

J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. has partnered with OSHA on various projects under OSHA’s contractor partnership program. We have also been the recipient of numerous safety awards.

Although the construction industry is statistically inherently dangerous, we at J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. believe that our employees do not have to become one of the statistics. It is our goal that each and every employee of J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. goes safely home to their family and friends each and every day.
