| The California office recently broke ground on a $4.2 million dollar pipeline project for the Upper San Gabriel Municipal Water District. This project consists of the installation of 12,768 lf of 20” through 24” Ductile Iron Recycled Water main along with 9,019 lf of 4” through 12” Pvc Recycled Water main. This project is the first project that the California operation has been awarded in which the owner received ARRA stimulus funding. This project is largely located within the City of West Covina and runs along some of the heaviest traveled streets within the city. Originally this project required that these pipelines be installed in a single 12 foot travel lane. The project team successfully negotiated permission with the City of West Covina to allow the closure of an additional traffic lane that expanded the work area to 24 feet. The City of West Covina allowed this change after the project team demonstrated that this change would allow the project to be completed ahead of schedule which would allow the city to commence construction of various overlay projects that are also being funded with ARRA funds. Construction is currently approaching the halfway milestone and is due to be completed by the end of August. |
